?Ah, Lord God!? I said,
?I know not how to speak; I am too young.?
But the Lord answered me,
?Say not, ?I am too young.'
To whom ever I send you, you shall go;
Whatever I command you, you shall speak.
Have no fear before them,
Because I am with you to deliver you.?
Jeremiah 1:6-8

Peer Ministry is a high school youth ministry program for students interested in serving, leading, and supporting their peers as they develop a deeper experience of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church.
Prospective Peer Ministers should have a commitment to Jesus Christ and His teachings. They should also be committed to the Catholic faith, be open to growing in their faith, have a desire and openness to share that faith with others, be spiritually and emotionally healthy, and be committed to a lifestyle that is pleasing to Christ.
Peer Ministry is a two-year experience at Trinity designed to build Christian leadership skills and enhance personal and spiritual awareness in its members in the context of Trinity College's overall campus ministry program.
Peer Ministers must be freely committed individuals willing to become part of a team with the common goal of actively witnessing Christian leadership to their peers.
The purpose of this program is to provide Trinity with a team of spiritual leaders able to minister in the areas of liturgy, prayer, liturgical services, retreats and in all other areas of spiritual need at Trinity. Peer Ministers are expected to be of service in their own parishes and outside the Trinity community.
Peer Ministry is a program designed to develop Christian values, social skills, and shared knowledge between students in different Year levels. Peer Ministry partners share planned activities, projects, social activities, and prayer experiences.
Peer Ministry is open to all boys in Years 11 who want to promote school spirit by helping Year 8s adjust to the high school environment and become active, responsible members of Trinity College. In the final term, all Year 10 students will be invited to apply to become Peer Ministers. Peer Ministry will be offered to approximately 30-40 students who are chosen to care for and serve the Trinity community.
Peer Ministers are asked to help plan and facilitate the Year 8 Quest Retreats.
Monthly meetings are scheduled for discussion times and activities. Discussions encourage attitudes of honesty, integrity and kindness.
Peer Ministers attend one or two sessions in the summer for training in leadership, group facilitating, and listening and communication skills.
Peer Ministers n Year 12 are called to touch the lives of others through participation in school retreats, particularly the Year 9 Galilee Retreat, and serving as Lectors and Special Ministers of the Eucharist at liturgies. On special occasions they will have the opportunity to deliver a Homily at Mass. They also take responsibility for training the Altar Servers.
Those wishing to participate should obtain an Application Form from Campus Ministry in the third term of Year 10. Two staff signatures are necessary.
