Year 9 Students visit the Francis Burt Law Centre
As part of the year 9 Society and Environment course, Trinity College visited the Francis Burt Law Centre on Wednesday 15 November 2006. The students were involved in a re-enactment of a trial dating back to 1844 which involved the controversial sentencing of a juvenile. Students participated in this activity in Perth’s oldest public building (circa. 1836) and first courthouse located next to the Supreme Court. Boys also had the opportunity to view justice in action in the Perth Magistrate’s Court. The outcome of the excursion enabled students to become actively engaged in the processes involved in the Western Australian legal system.
