R.I.P. Mr Murray McKenna

This morning we received the news that Mr Murray McKenna, a much loved member of the College Staff since 1984, passed away. Mr McKenna had been seriously ill since July 2004 and we have been praying for him since that time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr McKenna?s wife and children. We invite you to join us in praying and remembering also Mr McKenna?s brother, Barry, who is also a long serving staff member at Trinity.

Prayer

Almighty God,
be with Murray this day
as his body has found its rest.

Fill him with your Holy Spirit
that he may know the assurance of your presence.

Be with us also, who love him,
giving us the faith to see death
as your ultimate healing gift.

Help us to let him go,
rejoicing in the certainty that he returned to you,
the source of his life.

Replace our tears of sadness
with those of joy at his birth in eternity,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace. Amen.

May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
